The Khayelitsha/Mitchells Plain Chapter invites you to a virtual networking event with guest speakers Malcolm Mooi, CEO and Founder of Zibuza.net and Nobulali Sivu Mongo, Managing Director of Ziyahlanjwa Trading cc.

Malcolm's talk will highlight the following:

• His entrepreneurial journey and the path he had to forge to build a successful SMME
• How he adapted to the difficulties and opportunities presented by COVID-19
• His view on embracing resilience

Sivu will talk about her entrepreneurial journey from humble beginnings to a successful laundry service with eighteen employees, two temporary staff, two directors, corporate clients, and community clients.

MALCOLM MOOI:

A self-proclaimed practitioner of edtech by day and fintech by night, Malcolm Mooi is also the CEO and Founder of Zibuza.net. Malcolm's extensive background in the education sector dates back to 2002 where he first began his career as a trainer. In 2003, he joined the IT industry at a leading software firm and combined these passions in 2009 when Zibuza.net was first established. The start-up's prominent accolades include 2020 Mastercard Foundation Edtech Fellow, 2020 FNB Social Entrepreneur Impact Lab Top 25 Winner, 2019 Finalist for Accelerate2030 SDG4 by the United Nations, 2018 MISK Challenge Award Winner, 2018 Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation Recipient and 2018 World Summit Awards Country Winner.

NOBULALI SIVU MONGO:

Sivu started the business in 2010 after conducting market research in the Khayelitsha community and decided to offer a laundry service in the area.

She completed the Small Business Management Course at Stellenbosch University. Sivu is also the 2019 Winner of the Western Cape Premier Recognition Awards.
