Event Details
In honour of National Transport Month 2021 - which is celebrated in October each year, the Cape Chamber's Transport & Transport Infrastructure Portfolio Committee is honoured to host Premier Alan Winde โ Premier of the Western Cape and Minister Daylin Mitchell โ Western Cape Minister of Transport and Public Works.
An effective and safe transport and transport infrastructure system is important to sustain the country and its citizens - economically and socially. Transport influences the way we travel, operate businesses, grow our economy and develop our region. During 2021, transport in the Western Cape was hard hit with Covid-19, the ongoing taxi conflict and the crippling rail system.
The objective of this meeting is to provide the Chamber and business with information relating to:
- A Status update of the Road Traffic Network / Congestion / General Transport Modes;
- The Impact of Covid-19 on the Provincial Transport Directorate;
- The Impact of Taxi Violence and Crime on Provincial Transport;
- The Status of the Blue Dot Taxi Initiative;
- An Update on Major Construction / Infrastructure being undertaken / will be undertaken; and
- Future Plans for the Western Cape Transport and Infrastructure
We welcome your input and engagement at the meeting.
