The Cape Chamber's Economic & Finance Portfolio Committee is honoured to host Mr Solly Fourie: Head of the Department of Economic Development and Tourism โ Western Cape Government and Mr John Peters: Chief Director for Ease of Doing Business at the Department of Economic Development and Tourism โ Western Cape Government.
As a business, are you dealing with recurring red tape issues, which can be non-essential procedures, forms, licenses and regulations that add to the cost of doing business? Are you inhibited to operate and grow your business due to regulatory delays?
In order for a business to thrive the creation and promotion of an enabling business environment is required to ensure sustainability, job creation and growth in the economy. Businesses will be given a platform to highlight and discuss any red tape issues they are experiencing on an ongoing basis.
The purpose of the meeting is thus to:
- Engage with Western Cape businesses on Red Tape issues;
- Inform business of the Provincial Red Tape Office;
- Highlight prevalent Red Tape issues reported by business;
- Highlight the type of assistance offered to businesses, in respect of Red Tape issues;
- Discuss how Red Tape issues are resolved; turnaround times and the rate of successful resolutions;
- Advise what related services are in place for the ease of doing business; and
- Inform, whether there are any new developments / platforms in the pipeline to assist in the ease of doing business in the Western Cape.
