Guest Speaker Profile: Enver Mally

Enver Mally, an ex-teacher, started in the tourism industry as a tour guide in 1997. His entrepreneurial spirit and drive resulted in him forming his own company, Grassroute Tours, in 1998. The success of this venture led to a merger with African Eagle Day Tours, where is he currently a shareholder and Director. His insight, knowledge and experience in the industry, gained on his journey from tour guide to a tour operator, has made him one of the voices in the industry which is often quoted. Enver has served as President of Skal International Cape Town, as Chairperson on the board of Cape Town Tourism for four years and is highly respected within the Tourism Industry.

Enver is involved in various community upliftment programmes and is a founder member of the Tourism Community Trust, an organisation that assists in the building and development of projects in impoverished communities. He currently serves as one of the trustees of the organisation.

He is determined to find ways to give back to the community at large. He wants to pursue his role of a mentor and advisor to start-up businesses.
