The Cape Chamber's Agriculture Sector Portfolio Committee is honoured to host

Ms Liz Eglington – Entrepreneur and Owner of Blue Sky Organics.

Liz Eglington has made organic farming her mission in life. Farmer and owner of the first certified organic olive and chilli farm in South Africa in 2001 and a pioneer of organic farming in South Africa.

The objective of the meeting is to present and discuss the concept of Organic Farming and its impact on business and the environment.

We are what we eat, and so is everything else, including plants. Everything is connected and works in a symbiotic partnership. Without pollination, we will lose 85% of our flowering plants and 60% of our food. Insects and bees are an incredibly important part of the food chain and natural world, yet are being decimated globally. Understanding what is doing this and how to mitigate and bring it back to health is critical to our survival.

The presentation will outline the following matters:

  • Why Organic? What is the difference between food grown organically and food grown with agricultural chemicals?;
  • How best to facilitate a symbiotic partnership;
  • Discussing nutritional aspects related to organic and agricultural chemicals;
  • The present Global Health crisis includes human, animal, plant & soil health and how to stop the destruction thereof; and
  • Detailed information on the way/methods to vibrant health for all sectors and feed the World - why and how?

The Guest Speaker welcomes any questions, queries or points of clarity from the business sector.

We welcome your input and engagement at the meeting.
